In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Yin to My Yang.”
How do you define the term “soulmate,” and do you believe in the existence of such a person — for you?
As the American writer Richard Bach said, “A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are.”
My idea of a Soul Mate is someone that awakens different parts of you that no one else ever accomplished. You find a love that you never knew existed for the love comes together through your minds, your hearts and your souls. They are your friend and companion where trust and mutual feelings of love and respect are in sync with with each others wants and needs.
1 Corinthians 13:4–8a
(English Standard Version)
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. (ESV)
To me….if you have this with someone then they are your soulmate.
Some people go a lifetime and never find their soulmate. I don’t have the answers. All I can tell you is “when it is meant to be, it will be”. It is in God’s hands and He has a plan. So be patient……because in reality, it’s the only option we have. 🙂
